Big Foot Recreation Bylaws

Purpose
The Big Foot Recreation District Advisory Committee shall guide the Director in the overall direction, development and improvement of recreational opportunities for all residents of the Big Foot Recreation District.
Responsibilities
Membership
The committee shall consist of nine members that specifically represent the seven villages & townships within the Big Foot Recreation boundaries. (Villages of Fontana, Sharon & Walworth, Townships of Delavan, Linn, Sharon & Walworth). In addition to the community representatives, there will be one representative from the Big Foot High School Board along with the District Administrator.
Members are appointed to serve a three-year term. Individuals wishing to extend their services may hold as many as three consecutive terms. The terms shall be staggered so that there are no more than three new appointments each year. The terms shall expire on June 30th, with the new appointments effective July 1.
Appointments will be made by the District Administrator, School Board Representative and the current committee chairperson. Recommendations from the outgoing representative of that village/township will also be taken into account through the replacement process. All appointments shall be made to adequately represent the community, recognizing such factors as service organizations, age make-up, gender, and varied community interests. The chairperson will be elected annually by the Big Foot Recreation District Advisory Committee at the first meeting after July 1.
Meeting Schedules and Locations
The committee will meet a minimum of once a year although more meetings may be called as needed by the Director, Chair or School Administrator.
The Recreation Advisory Board will meet at Big Foot High School, 401 Devils Lane, Walworth, WI 53184.
Meeting Structure
The meeting will be held in an “informal setting” which will be lead by the Advisory Board Chairperson. Included in each meeting will be a Director’s Report, submitted by the Recreation Director.
A meeting reminder and agenda will be sent out at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting. The agenda will outline current recreation activity, issues, financial updates, and other pertinent information.
If a committee member is unable to attend a meeting, it is required that they contact the Recreation Director by the Thursday prior to the meeting at 5:00 p.m.
